Research Project Day: 6

Today in class I worked on my research project again. I drew designs for my tree candle holder thing. So far  I have around 5 different designs and chosen the main design I want to do for this project. The image below is a Google search I did while looking up ideas for what to add to my candle holder and what texture it should have.

Today I was sketching the design for my table phone holder thing idea. I also made soem attemt at making a banner for the Research blog (: all it really is a place holder....anywho.... I can't really scan my picture I was skething to get it up in this blog at the moment so i'm just going to upload a picture of my banner. Remember what i said earlier though, its just  place holder.

Today I started modeling one of my ideas. The minecraft character. My idea for this is a miner character holding up a torch in 1 hand and dragging a pickax behind him with his head looking around.

Today i started sketching one of my designs I'm planning on finishing  This one I was attempting to sketch was a tree with the branches coming together to hold a plate for a small candle. Sketch Book Pro

Today the teacher introduced to a program called Sketch Book Pro. It's a really amazing and simple digital drawing program. He had us messing around with it during class and while we were figuring everyone out there was a tutorial video playing on the screen that also went through everything in case we were confused. I'd been making a bunch of sketches all class but didn't save any of them. So near the end of class I scribbled something up that I could save and put up here. I will defiantly be using this program more in the future. This is supposed to be Megamind, at least I think that's his name, really, I just saw his photo on the wall and decided to draw him :P

Project Research: Day 2

Today in class I was working on the big research project the teacher assigned us. I spent today uploading  the pictures that I am using for inspiration and making a thinking map for my ideas for what to make. While making the map I organized my ideas and came up with some new ones. I have 2 concrete ideas at the moment and I am bouncing around 2 other ideas, since were supposed to have 3 ideas and projects. My first idea is a minecraft character in miners gear holding up a torch in one hand and a pickax dragging behind him. The other concrete idea a candle holder that if shaped like a tree, so the trunk is what supports it and some of the individual branches hold a plate to put a little candle on. Here is my thinking map that i created today.

Big Project

Today (for me at least) we started working on a new big project. We are supposed to find 10 images for inspiration, download them to our computer, then upload them to our other blog the teacher had us make,  and then start brainstorming idea for things to either draw or make in maya. They can be i-phone cases, mini firguines modern art, or anything else you can think of really. Today all I did was look at different pictures for inspiration. I realized I could use somthing taht I made in maya it was the second project I finished, all it would take is a few tweaks to the design and i have it done. We need to ahve 3 things drawn or modeled by the time this project is due (5 weeks from now), Here's a few of the images I got inspiration from.
