Randering Day: 2

Today when I got into class and start up maya I found out that the apple file i had made last class wouldn't open and i couldn't get it to work. So I ended up starting  over and actually got further than I had last class. I made it all the way up to when the camera is moving around the apple for around 200 frames I think it was. I was just
 amazed when I saw how the apple looked when it was playing.

Rendering Day: 1

Today I was planning on  trying to finish my Shapeways project but when I got into class Mr.Cornell gave us a new  mini-project. This project is to teach us about how to render objects. The example we were given to render first was an apple and it goes through this entire tutorial about changing the colors selecting different parts to edit, changing the material, and changing the color.

Research Project Day: 12

Today in class I finished the model for my tree design that I have been working on for the Shapeways project. I didn't get a chance to scan all the images up, so I am hoping I can do that when i get home today, if not ill try to come in sometime so that next class I can work on some other project. Here is a picture of the top view of the tree and the view from the side.

Research Project Day: 11

 Today in class I was working on updating my project research blog. Since it needed organizing and updating I was rearranging a few posts,updated a couple, and added a couple. I was was also changing a few small details on the model that I am making of the candle holder. Next class I should hopefully have all my sketches uploaded to the site and be finished with the whole Shapeways project.

Research Project Day: 10

Today during class Mr. Cornell showed us what were basically just  advertisements  He wanted us to see how they hook you in on something interesting then go onto explain their product. He also showed us clips from a movie that was an entertainment one about Mermaids. He wanted to see how they use the characters emotion to keep you hooked on the show. During our work time today i was finishing up the sketches for my ideas for the Research Project. I'm nearly completed with all them so now all I have to do is scan them into the computer. So this time I dont have a  picture of what I worked on but next time I will since by then I should be able to scan all of them up onto the other blog.

Thingiverse

Thingiverse is a website that people can upload their 3D models and designs to. It is a open source website so you can download the files to your computer edit them to how you want, then print them. Everything on the sight is organized under categories. It has just unlimited potential with everything that is uploaded and its open source design just makes the possibilities endless.

This is a prosthetic finger that can also function as a computer mouse. This shows how you can give things multiple purposes or uses

This is a pin from the popular movie Hunger Games. This shows how you can print off props from printers at home instead of going to buying them at the store.

This prop is also from the movie Hunger Games. It is the seal for one of the 12 districts from the movie. This is the one for the farming district, District 11.

This is a license plate frame for those who want to customize their car even further than they probably originally thought they could. It can also be for those dont have a customized car but still want their car to be different and recognizable from most other cars.

This  is Dog from the popular video game Half-Life 2. Dog shows that not everything printed has to have a use. Since this is just a small desk prop or child's toy.

Research Project Day: 9

Today during class I finished almost all of my sketches for the Shapeways project. So after I finished the sketches today I started up maya and started modeling a tree candle holder for my final project. I spent at least 10 minutes just trying to choose the correct color for the tree. In my opinion it really started looking like a tree after I changed the material and then colored the "trunk" brown and the "leaves" green.

Research Project Day: 8

 Today I was working on the Shapeways research project again. Today I was sketchign ideas for my final design and trying to come up with ideas for how to model it and create the final finished project. Since I'm drawing on a piece of paper and don't have a scanner i'm just uploading and image of the main page Mr.Cornell wrote that talks about sketchign the thumbnail with a few examples shown in the screen shot

Research Project Day: 7

So today in class I decided which version of the tree candle holder I am going to do for my project. Today I created a pinterest account and choose the 20 images I needed to look around for inspiration. I need to upload the pictures to my research blog but i do have them all finished on pinterest.
